WRITING

(see Books, Billboard, Blackboard, Ink, Punctuation)

Consider what the writing says, and to whom it’s addressed first. Very often the words are a message from your own subconscious or ego that need your attention.

The creative process. Many writers tell me that they dream of writing things before they actually put pen to pad.

Writing with footnotes is a subconscious message to be certain you’re carefully checking your sources of information with regard to a specific person or situation. Don’t believe everything you read and hear without some other confirmation.

If writing appears in a journal, this represents the need to record events carefully This information will prove useful later.

Writing with a quill pen symbolizes the power and responsibility- for your words. Great documents like the Declaration of Independence were scribed with this implement, with due diligence. What declarations are you writing into your life?

Writing a manuscript that never gets finished, or finishing one that gets rejected, portends similar disappointments on the horizon.

Examine this situation closely to be sure you’re seeing everything that’s important.... The Language of Dreams

MOVIES

RING

Like all round and closed figures, the ring symbolizes continuity and wholeness. Therefore, it serves as a symbol of marriage and also represents the bond to a particular affiliation, group, or society. It also provides confidence and power because of the support it symbolizes. The presence of a ring in your dreams portends engagement or a declaration of love, as well as the consolidation of an incorporation. Of course, whatever happens to the ring in dreams it could also apply to what it represents. In this way, a broken alliance foreshadows divorce or separation; losing a ring promises disputes with the person who gave it to you; to put it on someone else denotes the desire to exercise dominion over that person, etc. Rings, in addition to the above, show loyalty to your own principles and ideals. They can also refer to an oath or promise. Finally, by being the symbol of eternity, without beginning or end, the ring represents the true self.

The condition of the omen varies whether you receive or lose the ring. In the first case, the omens are good. In the latter, you will face some challenges. When you find the ring by chance, it means that you will soon have a new friend or a new lover. Finally, certain traditions assert that dreaming that you receive a ring means the breaking of promise.... The Big Dictionary of Dreams

DREAM IT WITH FLOWERS

In Victorian America and Europe, flowers were attributed with specific meanings by young men and women who used them during courtship to send messages to each other, whether in a forthright manner or by more clandestine means. Straightforward romantic or poetic thoughts were conveyed by the presentation of a single bloom, whilst lengthier messages were communicated by larger arrangements.

Love and happiness were not the only feelings expressed by these floral epistles. Infidelity, jealousy, disdain and rejection were also expressed by a suitably chosen bloom. Whilst a simple flower may have been sent to a young lady to propose marriage, another seemingly innocuous blossom may have been sent in response, telling the gentleman caller to ‘get lost’. The color of the flower was extremely significant; to cite a few examples, red usually meant love, yellow indicated friendship, lavender suggested enchantment, and orange fascination.

As far as dream interpretation goes, the list of meanings is seemingly endless, as nearly every flower has been attributed with a specific meaning at some point in time. In Victorian times, the range of available flowers was limited, and so certain flowers had specific meanings; today, with so many flower choices, there are no rules—it’s the sentiment and personal association that gives the flower meaning to you in a dream. For those interested in the historic or generally accepted meanings of flowers, the list below has been compiled from a variety of different sources, including the American Society of Florists.
