The meaning of Fog in dream | Dream interpretation
(see Clouds, Ruin, Storms)
Disorientation and confusion. Hidden or concealed matters. Being figuratively “thick,” that is, naive to the point of stupidity.
A dream of uncertainty (Gypsy).
Inability to see clearly; raise your energy to understand the situation or direction.
An obstacle dream the meaning of which alters according to its location. A fog at sea predicts seriously doubtful issues in love or domestic af- fairs. A fog on land in- dicates a sudden business or financial dilemma which will require great patience and ingenuity to handle. In either case a successful outcome is forecast if the fog dispersed during the dream, and if it dispersed into sunshine, you may ex- pect an ultimate benefit.
The sound of a foghorn in your dream is an omen of contrary and signifies a swift release from worry.
When driving, fog is an obstacle or a hindrance that makes things obscure. In a dream it may represent those things that are creating confusion and prevent the dreamer from seeing clearly.
The setting of the dream may also give you clues about the area of life that it is referring to. Is the fog over water or land, are you in familiar or unfamiliar surroundings? Does the dream represent the journey into the unconscious, where things are obscure and mysterious, or does it symbolize a part of daily life that is unclear, ambivalent and challenging. Either way, if the fog lifts before the dream ends, it suggests that awareness and clarity are forthcoming. However, if the fog in the dream was oppressive and frightening, take some time to reflect on what causes such feelings in daily life. Being in fog; a struggle is ahead of you. Coming through the fog; after a struggle you will succeed in your plans.
To dream of traveling through a dense fog, denotes much trouble and business worries.
To emerge from it, foretells a weary journey, but profitable.
For a young woman to dream of being in a fog, denotes that she will be mixed up in a salacious scandal, but if she gets out of the fog she will prove her innocence and regain her social standing.
1- To dream of being in a fog marks our confusion and inability to confront, or often even to see, the real issues at stake in our lives. We are often confused by external matters and the impact they may have on us emotionally.
2- To be walking in a fog is often a warning that matters we consider important can be clouded by other people’s judgement and it may be wiser to sit still and do nothing at this time.
3- A degree of spiritual doubt and a feeling of directionless wandering - which is probably only temporary - is symbolised here.
Dreams of fog represent difficulty seeing or thinking clearly, this is not a good time to be making major decisions. Navigate your way slowly through this period of your life, and don’t make hasty decisions. Your dream may be telling you to connect with your meditative or spiritual practice in order to gain clarity.
1. Lack of clarity, obscurity.
3. The point between the real and the unreal.
4. Troubles and worry.
An obstacle dream of great power, especially to those in love—your prospects of happiness are doubtful.
If the Fog clears away and the sun shines again, you will get over your disappointment in time.
Fog in dreams represents confusion and the need to explore one’s unconsicous mind for answers to a real life problem.
Lack of orientation and lack of focus. Here, something needs to be explained more clearly and made conscious. Insecurity and deception. There is something you don’t understand or which confuses you.
The fog, however, also means creativity—something new is produced.

Fog represents a sense of being lost and confused—not knowing where one is going. Fog can also symbolize the realm of the unconscious, which one may be exploring or attempting to navigate in a dream. Finally, a fog can obscure things, for good or bad.
An obstacle dream, dependent on other circumstances in the dream for exact interpretation.
A fog at sea indicates blockages in emotional situations, such as romance.
A fog on land indicates setbacks with regard to business or financial progress.
If the fog clears away during the dream, then the blockages will let up and therefore there’s no need to lose heart.
If it thickens, however, perhaps you’d better rethink the situation.
A state of confusion
You are having trouble seeing things clearly because of an illusory blend of thoughts and feelings. One of the interesting things about fog is that it mixes the symbolic meaning of two different elements: air and water. Fog occurs as a phenomenon in the air, yet it only exists when there is an abundance of moisture in the atmosphere, therefore connecting it to the emotions. By combining the two elemental aspects of air and water, fog is the symbolic phenomenon of what can happen when unconscious thoughts and hidden emotions combine. Fog can completely block your vision and impair your ability to navigate safely. Fog presents a potential danger to those who are traveling through it, whether over water or on land. It may be seen as the blindness that can result when your thoughts and feelings interact with each other in a confusing way. It also indicates a need to slow down and be more careful as you move about your environment.
If fog is present in your dream, ask yourself if there is any area in your life that you may not be seeing accurately.
Something that is short in duration, James 4:14 NLT
Confusion; indecision; inability to see the real issues in yourself and your environment. Idioms: not the foggiest.
(1) The fog may represent your unconscious. Therefore, examine as carefully as possible anything that, in the dream, looms out of the fog.
It is almost certainly something you need in your conscious life or something you must come to terms with.
(2) If you are lost in the fog, this means you are ‘lost’ in your waking life: not knowing where you are going; disorientated; needing a (new) sense of direction, new values.
