LANGUAGE, FOREIGN OR STRANGE

One function of dreams is to bring aspects of our thinking or feeling, which may be ill defined, towards clarification. Foreign or strange language may therefore illustrate something which is being communicated to us from within, but is still not clear.

The unconscious, as in speaking in tongues—glossolalia—and of course in dreams, frequently moves towards clear awareness in stages.

The strange language is a halfway house, as is a dream.

If we bring focused attention to these, as explained in dream processing, the next step, clear verbal expression, can be reached. Speaking in language we are learning: the language is becoming habitual, making it possible to think in it. See speaking. ... A Guide to Dreams and Sleep Experiences

MOUNTAIN

For a young woman to dream of crossing a mountain in company with her cousin and dead brother, who was smiling, denotes she will have a distinctive change in her life for the better, but there are warnings against allurements and deceitfulness of friends.

If she becomes exhausted and refuses to go further, she will be slightly disappointed in not gaining quite so exalted a position as was hoped for by her.

If you ascend a mountain in your dreams, and the way is pleasant and verdant, you will rise swiftly to wealth and prominence.

If the mountain is rugged, and you fail to reach the top, you may expect reverses in your life, and should strive to overcome all weakness in your nature.

To awaken when you are at a dangerous point in ascending, denotes that you will find affairs taking a flattering turn when they appear gloomy. ... Ten Thousand Dream Interpretation

MOUNTAIN

A mountain in a dream represents a great and a noble man who possesses a strongand a commandingvoice, who commands good administration of his affairs and an excellent leadership. It also can be interpreted as a son, a difficult and austere woman, or a businessman.

If the mountain is rounded or flat in the dream, it means difficulties or distress.

A mountain in a dream also could mean achieving one’s goal, a journey, or fulfilling a promise.

If the mountain is standing distinct from other mountains in the dream, the above meanings become stronger.

If the mountain has pasture and stores a source of water, and if it is used as a permanent guarding post, then it represents a pious ruler. However, if it stores no water, and if no pasture grows therein in the dream, it represents a tyrant and a ruler who is an atheist, for in that case, it is dead and does not glorify God Almighty, nor can people benefit from it. In a dream, a mountain that stands high is alive, but a crumbling mountain which has turned into a pile of rocks is dead. Ifa person sees himselfclimbing an erect mountain, eating from its plants and drinking from its water, and ifhe qualifies to govern, it means that he will be appointed to a governing post under the auspices of a stringent ruler, though his subjects do receive benefits from his government.

The size of benefits the governor will acquire is equal to the quantity of food and the measure of water he drinks from it in his dream. Ifthe person is a merchant or a business man, a mountain in his dream represents profits and earning a good reputation.

If climbing the mountain is easy, then there are no benefits in that climbing in the dream, for there are no benefits without hardships.

If at the end of his climbing one thanks God Almighty for what he has reached in the dream, it means that he will become a just ruler.

If he calls to prayers on the top of a mountain or performs his prayers thereat in the dream, it means that he will be appointed to govern.

If one sees himself descending a mountain in a dream, it means loss of rank, business losses, or regret.

If one is accompanied with his king and soldiers in a dream, it means that he is in the company of God Almighty and that of His angels, therefore, he shall be victorious, whereby, he can win a war, conquer an enemy, or renounces his attachment to the world.

If climbing a mountain with difficulty means distress, then descending it in a dream means relief.

If climbing means gaining a higher station, then descending in a dream means losing rank. Ifone sees himself climbing a mountain, though at a certain height he finds himself no longer able to climb or to descend in the dream, it means that he will die young.

If one sees himself falling from a mountain in a dream, it means that he will fall into sin. Ifhe falls and breaks a leg in the dream, it means that he will become despised by his superiors.

A mountain on fire in a dream represents the death of a dangerous person. Leaning against a mountain in a dream represents friendship with someone in authority. Living in the shadow of a mountain in a dream means earning one’s livelihood from such a person and living happily there. Carrying a mountain in a dream means carrying the responsibility of managing the business of a notable merchant, and such responsibilities will bear heavy on him.

If the mountain is radiant with lights, it means that one’s responsibilities will be light too.

If he sees a mountain descending from the heavens in a dream, it represents a visit of the local governor to that locality.

If one sees the mountain rising into the skies in a dream, it means that the governor of that town will be dismissed. Throwing stones from the top of a mountain in a dream means insulting others.

If the mountain is beautifully dressed in the dream, it means that one will command a greater authority. Seeing a mountain at a distance in a dream means a journey.

If one sees an earthquake hitting a mountain in a dream, it means that calamities will befall that land or country.

If an evildoer sees a mountain in his dream, it means that he will surely suffer for his sins. Swallowing a mountain in a dream means commanding and controlling ruthless and strong men. Climbing a mountain until one reaches a flat surface in a dream means serving orphans, or nursing sick people. Entering a cave inside a mountain in a dream means reaching safety.

The good or evil emanating from seeing a mountain in one’s dream depend on its fertility or bareness. Climbing a mountain and enjoying its vegetations and its sweet fresh waters in a dream means sheltering one’s chastity in the company of one’s wife, or learning a knowledge or a trade that will satisfy one’s needs. Climbing a mountain through a straight path in a dream means facing things the way they are.

If one sees mountains moving forward with him, it means a war or a major conflict between people of knowledge. Falling down from the top of a mountain into the middle of beasts, crows, vultures, snakes, mammals, mire, filth, or rats and their different kinds in a dream means abstaining from sins, or refraining from innovation if escaping from them leads one into a mosque where he can enter to pray, or a garden where he can rest in peace. Ifthe mountain crumbles, and ifit is transformed into ashes or dirt in the dream, it means that whoever is meant in that dream shall lose his devotion and waste his life.

MOUNTAIN

General Meaning: A mountain in any context speaks of a new journey and obtaining new heights. It can also be an obstacle in your way that you need to conquer.

• Dreams • Positive: If you are someone that enjoys mountain climbing, then your dream would speak of your hobbies and interests.

• However, for most people, a mountain will speak of a new goal or level for you to attain.

It is a promise of a promotion and seeing a new perspective on things.

Negative: A mountain in a negative light speaks of an obstacle that is preventing you from reaching your personal goals.

• It could be that you are struggling to complete a project or go in a certain direction.

Dreaming of a mountain in your road is a confirmation of the blockage.

• You will need wisdom to discern if this is a mountain you must tackle or one you need to walk around and avoid.

• Of course as believers, when the enemy puts a mountain in our way, we have the authority to pluck it up and cast it into the sea!

Visions Positive:

For both visions and prophetic dreams, the mountain is a very positive picture! It speaks of an opportunity for you to receive a promotion in the realm of the spirit.

• However it is not going to come without effort. Climbing a mountain is hard work and it will require a lot from you.

• It will mean leaving some things behind that you have relied on before. It will mean leaving behind everything you were and possessed, so that you can take hold of the new thing.

• In The Moses Mandate I share how the Moses Apostle is called to the mountain top many times.

It is here that He will come into that face-to-face relationship with Jesus and also get his mandate.

• A mountain in the Scriptures is often a picture of the presence of God.

It is an apt image as it comes with a price. It means leaving behind your own ideas and everything that weighs you down, to come into His presence.

• Moses had to obey some strict conditions before climbing the mountain into the Lord’s presence. However the journey was worth it, because there he experienced the glory of God! • Have you been asking the Lord to experience Him in a greater way? If so, then seeing a mountain is a call from the Lord to take the first step; to submit to going through the death and letting go of the old, so that you can take on the new.

• Just like in real life, it will be a hard climb. However just as Moses discovered, it will be well worth it when you get to experience God in a new and powerful way.

• Exodus 24:17 And the sight of the glory of the LORD [Yahweh] [was] like devouring fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the children of Israel.

Negative: When praying for someone or for personal needs, I have often seen a mountain in my path.

• This is a negative picture and speaks of an obstacle that the enemy has put there.

• It is also a good picture of how you feel when you come to the Lord with a big prayer request. It seems to loom over you, making you feel small and insignificant.

• However, you can overcome it! If you see a mountain across your path and you feel that it is something that the enemy has put there, then it is something for you to remove in the name of Jesus.

• This is a call to spiritual warfare. I suggest that you get your hands on The Way to Effective Prayer by Apostle Daphne Crause for some very practical teaching on this subject.

• Mark 11:23 For assuredly I say to you, That whoever will say to this mountain, Be removed, and be cast into the sea; and will not doubt in his heart, but will believe that those things that he says will come to pass; he will have whatever he says.

• If you are facing a mountain in your life right now, take this passage, memorize and confess it until it is deep in your spirit. Then stand against that mountain and it will give way!.... The Way of Dreams and Visions

You are dreaming of challenges or obstacles that you must surmount in your life, especially as they might relate to new ideas, constructs, or choices. Mountains are formed when two opposing vectors of movement in the earth’s crust push against each other and rise upward to form a new land mass. Therefore, the mountain is symbolic of the newly formed, high vantage place that rises up out of conflict and confrontation. Remember that changes on our planet’s surface first begin in the combustible core below. This relates them to the passion, aggression, and other friction-causing emotional states that occur in the lower depths of the unconscious that, in the long run, build new, higher terrain upon which you can see more of your life.... Major obstacles and challenges within your life are represented by mountains in dreams.

If you appear on the top of the mountain, it means that you have conquered any obstacles or that you have reached goals that you have set for yourself. The style in which you are climbing the mountain will tell you how well you are dealing with problems, and any difficulties you may encounter on the way, such as falling rocks, avalanches or cut ropes, will all possess a significance.

Mountains are also a symbol for spiritual truth.

If you are climbing a mountain in your dream, it signifies that you are a determined and ambitious person. Falling off a mountain in your dream means that you are tempted to give up on things when the going gets tough. According to Freud, the image of a mountain in a dream represents female sexuality, because their profile resembles a woman’s breast. A dreamer feeling anxious about climbing a mountain in a dream may be expressing sexual anxiety and standing on top of a mountain can indicate feelings of domination. For Jung, the view from mountain tops symbolizes an overview of your progress and looking at a peak from below indicates the vast challenge offered by the process of self-discovery. Because hills and gentle slopes lack the challenge of steep rocky or icy mountains, in dreams hills indicate that the task of self-discovery may be easier than you think. ORANGE

Orange has many associations, in particular with generosity and optimism. It is considered to be a color of warmth, thoughtfulness, wisdom and sociability, and it is connected with sunshine and light. Orange or saffron indicates a person with a strong spiritual presence.

If you have been discouraged in your search for spiritual enlightenment, the presence of orange in your dream may suggest that your patience will be rewarded.

If you are dressed in orange, this may underline your desire to shun materialism in favor of spiritualism. Dreams in which orange features are often taken as signs of positive change within the dreamer’s life, but it is important to point out that orange also has associations with mistrust, uncertainty and doubt.

Muddier shades of orange may be representative of this uncertainty, and in a dream they may be urging you to be more thoughtful about a particular person or situation. Orange surfaces and staircases in dreams may represent positive journeys.

If an orange object caught your dreaming eye, could it have reflected your own upbeat outlook, or could it have been urging you to transform your life for the better by being more positive, sociable and outgoing? For example, an orange hat may suggest an optimistic new way of thinking. An orange flower may suggest a sense of contentment with life. An orange fist may suggest anger, hostility and aggression. Keywords: friendliness, courtesy, lively, sociability, and an outgoing nature. You may want to expand your horizons and look into new interests.... The Element Encyclopedia

ORANGE / PEACH

Symbols of health and prosperity, oranges in dreams recall the sunny times in your life. To see orange trees in your dream signifies health and prosperity. In dreams, peaches indicate pleasure and joy—as suggested by the idiom ’life is peachy’—but they can also indicate lust and sensuality, as well as a tendency to be easily bruised. They may also suggest bisexuality, with the leaf being a phallic symbol and the fruit being the vulva. The poets of Arabia compared the peach’s dimpled appearance to a pair of young, pert buttocks. In Chinese and Japanese tradition, the peach is a symbol of immortality, so perhaps you are feeling invincible at the moment?... The Element Encyclopedia

Because of its high vitamin content, this symbolizes good health or things that are good for you.

An emblem of the triune nature of humankind (body-mind-soul), because the tree bears flowers, leaves, and fruit simultaneously.

Buying oranges portends prosperity. In the Middle Ages, oranges were a highly valued and expensive commodity.

In the East, dreaming of oranges represents extending good wishes for joy and abundance to those you care about.

Controlling an unruly nature. Orange slices were originally put in drinks, believing they would prevent drunkenness. In this case, stopping the “inebriation” becomes a metaphor for self-regulation.

STRANGER

The interpretation of seeing and interacting with a stranger, or strangers, in your dream depends on the details of your dream and on your personal belief system. Some Eastern cultures believe that the strangers in your dreams are spirits from another dimension. These spirits may be teaching you lessons or giving you specific messages.

The more modern approach to interpreting a dream with strangers in it is that they represent different sides or unfamiliar aspects of our personality.

The best way to tell is to “check inside” of yourself and simply try to understand the message of this dream. Whether the message is coming from your unconscious or from a different reality might be irrelevant.

The lessons gained through a dream are far more important then where they came from. Just remember: The mind that dreamt the dream also knows its source and meaning (and that is YOUR own mind). See also: People... The Bedside Dream Dictionary

STRANGER

A person unknown to you is still representing a character aspect of your personality, even if his or her identity is concealed or the person is a stranger. When making an interpretation about a person you don’t know, you must focus on what you actually do know. What the person is doing in your dream and how you feel about that will give you the essence of your interpretation. Whatever message your dream is presenting you with, the fact that it comes from a stranger or a person with a concealed identity indicates that the unconscious is not quite ready to reveal what is being called into action in your current situation. More will be revealed; we learn in stages and increments and often resist change, so be prepared for initial levels of fear to come up around this type of imagery.

The unknown assailant who chases us may simply be trying to give us our forgotten lunch money or an umbrella because it is raining. When there are clear personality traits apparent and the person’s identity is unknown to you, it likely points to an area of development within your own personal makeup. An angry or aggressive stranger may point to an integration of that energy into consciousness.

A more helpful or gentle stranger indicates that softer elements are being called into prominence. Whatever end of the continuum your dream stranger is on, be prepared to consider the necessity and power of the energy he or she is embodying in the dream.

A deliberate concealment of identity can also indicate a matter of the unconscious tricking the conscious into hearing a difficult piece of information; for just as in life, it is sometimes easier to hear impactful news from a stranger than from someone we love.... Complete Dictionary of Dreams

STRANGER

Your dreaming mind may often conjure up images of strangers, unknown people or people whose faces are hidden by masks as representations of the shadow, private and sometimes shocking side of your personality. This is especially the case if the strangers are inadequate or sinister in some way, or if they are burglars, intruders or criminals.

If such images appear, it is important not to ignore them as you need to acknowledge these dream figures as reflections of an aspect of yourself in order to face up to your fears.

If you do not do so, you will continually come up against feelings of insecurity and low self- esteem in waking life. The stranger in a dream represents that part of yourself that you do not know. There may be feelings of conflict or tension but you need to deal with these dark images before you can progress in waking life. Jung referred to the shadow as the dark side of a person that you would like to keep hidden—’the thing a person has no wish to be’. The shadow can be thought of as an instinctive and primitive side of your personality that you are trying to repress.

Dream strangers therefore generally represent aspects of your character that you either haven’t consciously acknowledged or that you have neglected. This is why they appear unfamiliar or strange in your dream. How these strangers look and behave will give you an important clue to the nature of the problem area.

If a sinister figure does appear in your dream, try not to avoid confronting it. Notice how it tries to control the action in your dream. Observe what negative aspects of yourself it may be addressing and try to address them in your waking life.

Self-destructive urges are less likely to overwhelm you if you are prepared to confront them.

If dream strangers represent aspects of your personality any spacemen, aliens or extraterrestrials in your dream usually indicate that you are feeling threatened by alien forces or situations. Starting a dialogue with them should help you understand them better and allay your fears of the unknown. The same applies if a foreigner appears in your dream speaking an unfamiliar language....
