The meaning of Path in dream | Dream interpretation
(see Alley, Comer, Dead End, Highway)
Spiritual directions and focus. Taoism, for example, translated from the Chinese, means “the way” or “path.” Buddhism teaches the eightfold path to enlightenment. Christ spoke of the path of righteousness.
A guideline, edict, or idea that you are following now, or plan to follow in the future. Paths have defined borders that set them apart from the accompanying countryside, showing the way to go.
A sign of fahy mischief or presence. In European and rural American folklore, bright green lines of grass were called fairy paths, and believed to be created by the passage of these elemental beings.
Meandering: Varying from your destiny or taking temporary detours away from a previously specified goal.
Divergent: A decision must be made, but both options appear equal. See if your dream reveals something about this choice that you have not seen yet, such as one path exhibiting weeds that might entangle you.
Well-worn: Either being in a rut, or staying so constrained to one way of thinking and living that the same old routes get walked again and again.
Straight: Staying true to your ideals, lifestyle, and / or goals.
To dream of a straight path denotes success and virtue, a crooked and thorny path forecasts disappointment and treachery (Gypsy).
The path is a classic symbol of the direction your life is taking. A rocky path suggests obstacles in your way. When a path suddenly inclines uphill, Freudians would interpret the climb as a desire for sex.
If you are traveling alone, this suggests independence or loneliness.
If you are traveling in a group, pay attention to the people accompanying you. Are they helping or hindering your progress? Traveling companions suggest your involvement with others in life or the feelings and attitudes that influence you and give you direction.
If the path was wide, open and straight, the sun was shining, you had a clear view ahead and were walking with confidence, this suggests optimism, independence, well-being and a sense of direction in life.
If, however, the dream path is foggy, hazy or you are walking in darkness, the message is that you have lost your focus. The same would apply if you are struggling to push your way through foliage or other obstacles, such as rocks, holes and other pitfalls.
If you overcame the obstacles, the message is that you will find a way of doing so in waking life; if you gave up, this suggests that you feel defeated.
If you felt frustrated that you could not move as fast along the path as you would have liked, this also suggests obstacles inflicted on you by others or by yourself.
If you are following a trail of footsteps in your dream, perhaps this reflects your sense to follow someone else’s example in waking life. An open road suggests a desire for freedom, whereas a narrow road suggests constraints.
Dreaming of a highway can express your desire to fast-track to success in life. A fork or bend in the road can indicate indecision.
Our direction in life. See whether going up (right direction) or down (wrong direction). See Road.
A broad path in your dream predicts a happy life and good friends, but a narrow one portends struggle and deceit; however, you can overcome it by being cautious in your close associations.
The path can be interpreted as an invitation to conduct your life in a positive direction.
If you want changes you must take action. (See SHORTCUT and AVENUE)
A wide and smooth path, surprisingly, denotes emotional problems. A rocky and rugged one, however, predicts a happy marriage.
To dream that you are walking in a narrow and rough path, stumbling over rocks and other obstructions, denotes that you will have a rough encounter with adversity, and feverish excitement will weigh heavily upon you.
To dream that you are trying to find your path, foretells that you will fail to accomplish some work that you have striven to push to desired ends.
To walk through a pathway bordered with green grass and flowers, denotes your freedom from oppressing loves.
1- A patli in a dream signifies the direction one has decided to take in life.
The type of path, e.g. whether it is smooth or rocky, winding or straight, may be just as important as the path itself.
2- Often a path can represent the way we feel a relationship or situation is developing. It can also suggest a way of following up a concept or line of enquiry. In waking life, it is often the way a clairvoyant ‘sees’ the way in which the enquirer’s life is changing.
3- A path in a dream can indicate a Spiritual direction.
3. Peaceful state of mind (if path is unblocked).
This is another obstacle dream, as the meaning depends upon circumstances.
If you can walk easily and comfortably, then your affairs will flourish.
If you meet stiles or other obstacles to your progress, then you may be certain that there are difficulties to be faced in the future.
If you dream of walking down a quiet path, you have patience and a clear mind.
If your path is blocked in a dream, you need to take more time to think about the consequences of recent actions.
As in Street; a frequent symbol of life’s path. See Wagon. Your personal path is laid out for you. You are walking your own life’s path. Or, difficulty on the path.
Vision: Seeing a wide path: you love to circumvent difficulties, preferring an easy life.
A narrow path or walking along a path: don’t be deterred from the life path you have chosen. Seeing a path in front of you: you want to keep your happiness hidden from friends. Getting lost: you are on the wrong path. Standing at a crossroads: it is important that you stay on the path you believe intuitively is right for you.
Depth Psychology: A path in a dream is an indication of your attitude, ideals, and/or hopes that determine the direction of your life.
It is not only a sign of your desire for self-fulfillment, but also for all, still dormant, possibilities.
A quiet, spiritual walk down an unobstructed, open path signifies clarity of thought and peace of mind.
A blocked and twisted path, however, means one needs to give serious attention to the direction one is taking in one’s business or personal life.
The dream may imply the need for a time-out to consider the outcome and the consequences of the issues at hand.
A path in a dream can indicate the direction that we should take spiritually.

The type of path, e.G. Whether it is smooth or rocky, meandering or straight, may be just as important as the path itself. In waking life, it is often the way a clairvoyant ‘sees’ the way in which the enquirer’s life is changing.
A path is a way of moving about some territory that has been traveled before by others such that the way is clear.
It is a symbol of your own walk through life that is reflective of making choices that others have made before you.
The more wild and remote the path, the more your dream is reflecting territory that is perhaps unique or atypical.
A path or any movement along a path in a dream is also a symbol of your private journey through life.
A level path is symbolic of walking in God’s truth, Ps. 27:11, Jer. 31:9.
A hidden path can symbolize an unseen option in life
